Hi Friends! I apologize for not blogging for a while. Life has been a little crazy with condo renovations! It’s coming along… slowly, but surely. We were recently able to break away from the stress at home for a quick weekend getaway to Milwaukee to celebrate our dear friends’ nuptials. Even though Milwaukee is super close to Chicago (about an hour and a half drive), we decided to make a long weekend out of our trip. We had a fantastic time!
It is absolutely insane how quickly summer has flown by, but if you are looking for a fun, quick getaway while it is still warm – I would highly recommend heading up to Milwaukee.
Where to Stay
We always stay at The Pfister Hotel. This hotel makes you feel like you are stepping back into the 1800s. The decor has a Titanic feel to it with an extensive collection of historic artifacts used as decor. It’s just beautiful. You can stay in “the old side” or “the new side.” For some reason, the new side is always sold out and we can only get a room in the old side. My husband and I actually really like the old side because the rooms are bigger. We prefer the Pfister King Suite, which includes a parlor! Fancy.
Side note: this hotel is allegedly one of the most haunted hotels in America. My husband low-key dropped that he saw a ghost in our room, sitting in a chair, and it “wouldn’t stop f*cking staring at him.” Ummm…. ?!
Obviously, I immediately turned to Google and quickly found out we aren’t the only one’s who have experienced paranormal activity in our room. Apparently, The Pfister is the official hotel the MLB uses to host teams playing against the Brewers. There are several statements MLB players have given about their rooms being haunted. For real. Google it.
We’ve stayed at this hotel multiple times though and will stay here again in the future. I ain’t afraid of no ghost! (But kinda… haha! I slept with ALL of the lights on the second night of our stay.)
What to Do
Hit up a Baseball Game
Speaking of the Brewers… we just happened to be in town the same weekend the Chicago Cubs were playing the Brewers! Having never been to Miller Park before, my husband wanted to take me to the game. It was a really nice stadium and our seats were fantastic! Unfortunately, the hot dogs were a swing and a miss – order something else and you’ll be good.
Check out Third Space Brewery
Third Space Brewery is a new brewery that recently opened in Milwaukee. They have a really cool beer garden that is pet and kid friendly! For those who aren’t beer drinkers – wine is BYOB! They have food trucks on most weekend days too.
Have Lunch or Dinner on the Harbor
Harbor House is a super cute, upscale, seafood restaurant in Milwaukee. The views are beautiful and the food is really good. Friends of ours ordered the seafood tower and it looked incredible.

Grab a Cocktail at The Outsider
The Outsider is a swanky rooftop bar located inside the Kimpton Journeyman Hotel. It is a see and be seen type of place that is the perfect place to grab a cocktail after dinner.

Have you been to Milwaukee? If so, what are your favorite things to do and see? Let me know in the comment section below!
XO, Lauren
My friend’s brother is a partner of the holding company that developed the Journeyman. This company has been developing/rehabbing buildings in the Milwaukee area.
It was a really cool hotel! We loved that rooftop bar.
