Best Places to Eat & Drink on Oahu

Aloha! If you read my travel guide on Oahu, you might have noticed I completely left out where to eat! It wasn’t a mistake. I did that on purpose because the food on the island was fantastic and deserves it’s own dedicated blog post. 🙂

Where to Eat

Breakfast

Hula Grill – Ask to eat outside. The view is gorgeous!

Heavenly Island Lifestyle – Get the acaí bowl!

LuLu’s – Get the stuffed French toast. Holy yum!

Lunch

Honos Shrimp Truck or Giovanni’s Shrimp Truck – Hit up after cage diving or while exploring the North Shore. If you can handle extreme spice, get the #2 from Honos.

Marukame Udon – I had never heard of udon before, but the line to get in this place was a mile long daily for lunch and dinner. We had to try it. Get the Niku Udon and a piece or two of the shrimp tempura.

The Habachi Market – This place looks like a gas station on the inside. It is nothing fancy, but they have the BEST poke bowls. Great place to pick up food on your way home from Lanikai Beach. There is no seating, FYI. They also give you samples of everything. I preferred the ginger ahi tuna.

Dinner

Duke’s – The best day to go here is Sunday because they have a party out on the beach from 4 pm – 6 pm. If you want to eat dinner after, I recommend making a reservation in advance. It gets packed! Their menu changes, but I really enjoyed the seared ahi tuna.

Orchids – This fine dining restaurant has the best ocean views! Make a reservation and ask to sit closest to the beach.

Eating House 1849 by Roy Yammaguci – OMG, the BBQ Mixed plate. Enough said.

Drinks

Hideout – This bar is so cute and is located inside The Laylow Hotel. They have live bands and really cute open air seating areas.

Rum Fire – Perfect place to grab a cocktail and watch the sunset!

Maui Brewing Co – This brewery just opened up in Waikiki. I highly recommend the lychee martini. If you are a beer drinker, the Bikini Blonde was tasty too. (FYI – Whole Foods sells Maui Brewing Co’s beer now! I grabbed a six pack at the Kingsbury location in Lincoln Park, Chicago.) Great place to have dinner as well.

Treats

Ai Love Nalo – This plant-based restaurant uses locally grown ingredients and has tons of gluten free options! The smoothies are perfection.

Island Snow – Is it a clothing store or is it a shaved ice spot? Haha, it’s both! I got the cutest hat while my mom and sister were ordering shaved ice. FYI – they put ice cream on the bottom!!!

Honolulu Cookie Co – Our welcome basket from the hotel included a little pineapple container filled with these cookies. They were so delicious that we ended up going to the store and buying all of our peeps back home cookie souvenirs! Did I mention that they have free samples of EVERY FLAVOR in their stores?! Yassssss.
