Happy half birthday to our beautiful little Brighton Rose! I feel like I say this all the time, but I honestly don’t know where the time goes. It feels like just yesterday that she was in my belly, yet at the same time I feel like she has been a part of our lives forever! [Read about my birth story here.] And as every parent says… we cannot imagine our lives without her in it.
Brighton has been sleeping through the night since about 8 weeks or so. She is currently taking two naps a day. Her morning nap is typically an hour to an hour and a half and her afternoon nap is a solid two hours. Brighton goes to bed around 6:30 pm and typically sleeps until about 7:30 am. We are beyond blessed to have such an excellent little sleeper.
Brighton is a peanut. At our 6 month appointment she weighed 14 lbs 14 oz and was 25.5″ long. These stats put her at 25% for weight and 19% for height. She is wearing mostly 3-6 mo and 6 mo clothing.
The most rewarding moment we’ve had lately was witnessing her accomplish blowing raspberries. She has been consistently trying to master this trick since she was 4 months, but couldn’t figure it out. Now she cannot stop doing it and it is adorable. Brighton also loves to clap her hands and make lots of squealing noises.
The things that make her the most happy are Sofie the Giraffe and her vTech bird, blowing raspberries, and taking baths. She’s so cute in the bath! Brighton kicks her feet like a wild woman. I also think she takes after her parents with how much she loves eating food. Haha! Her whole face lights up when she sees the baby food jar.
The only thing that make her the most unhappy seems to be tummy time. We are working on this daily. I have found that putting her on her tummy right after she wakes up from a nap helps her stay in the position the longest before she melts down completely.
Brighton has had quite the exciting life so far. In her first six months of life, she has traveled to Michigan, Florida, and Mexico, met Santa and enjoyed her first Christmas, vacationed at both grandma’s homes, and has captured the hearts of all who have met her. I’d say she’s a very lucky little girl.
Love this feel good post! Happy half birthday cutie patootie!! 💕
