September 26 is the best day ever. Why? Oh, because it’s my birthday! AND… my wedding anniversary! Right?! I know. Best day ever. Three years ago, my hubby and I tied the knot on my 30th birthday and it was a party of EPIC proportion. Now, I realize no birthday from here on out will ever top THAT particular year, but it’s always a really great day.
This year I decided to treat myself a 60 minute massage at Massage Envy. When I walked in, the woman at the register said, “Wait! Your birthday is this week?!” and proceeded to offer me an enhancement selection I could choose from to upgrade my massage. Um, okay! I decided to get a sugar foot scrub added on and it was glorious.
While I was supposed to be in total relaxation mode, I couldn’t help but start thinking about what else I could get for free on MY special day. After researching, I realized there are many restaurants and retailers that hook you up on your birthday. I’ve narrowed it down to my personal favorites and what I actually redeemed.

Free Makeup from Ulta & Sephora – I was able to score a free IT Cosmetics mascara from Ulta and 250 points from Sephora. I’m loving that you can redeem points now at Sephora. It allows you to select a better birthday gift than what they offer. You need to be signed up for their emails/rewards in order to redeem and are available during your birthday month.
$10 off at Spray of Sunshine – Obviously, you’ll be celebrating your birthday and want to look as good as possible. Spray of Sunshine hooks you up with $10 off your next in studio session during your birthday month! I think you need to create an account through their website to be able to get this deal.
Free Brow Arch at Benefit Brow Bar – On the topic of looking good… Benefit will give you a free brow arch the week of your birthday. Make sure to sign up for their emails! Note: this is only available at stand alone locations.
$25 Off Rent the Runway – Who doesn’t want to look their best on their birthday?! If you need an outfit, RTR will give you $25 off a dress with a subtotal of $100 or more.
10% Off at ASOS – Who doesn’t love ASOS?! Especially 10% off at ASOS.
15% off at Anthropologie – Anthropologie has the cutest clothes and home goods! Buy yourself something nice.
CVS Pharmacy – Don’t have time for a manicure? This year I was offered a free nail polish from Pop-arazzi at CVS.
Feel Good
Massage Envy Enhancement – Ask your local ME in advance. My location stated they don’t have a specific ‘birthday’ policy, but usually offer it to people if they come in the week of their birthday. They have four treatments you can select from, but I can only remember the two that stood out to me: sugar foot scrub or essential oil of your choice added to the lotion and you get to take home the extra.
Free Essential Oil from Aveda – Make sure you’re signed up for Pure Privilege Rewards and you’ll receive a coupon in the mail good for a bottle of free essential oil! There are a few scents you can choose from. I love adding the oil to my bath. 🙂
Free “It’s My Birthday” Pin from Kate Spade – Pop in to your local Kate Spade store to redeem a cute pin to wear on your shirt. It will help make sure EVERYONE knows it’s your birthday so they can make you feel good on your special day.
Treat Yo’ Self
Free Food or Beverage from Starbucks – If you don’t have their app, you are doing life wrong. Download it and make an account ASAP. On your birthday, it will automatically give you a coupon for a free food or beverage item. Excellent way to start your day! This deal is only available on the day of your birthday and the day after.
Free bundtlet at Nothing Bundt Cakes – Sign up for Nothing Bundt Cakes emails. They send out ridiculously good deals like a free bundtlet on your birthday! They also had a special running this week for buy 1, get 1 free. They let me redeem both coupons, so I got THREE bundtlets for the price of one. Don’t worry – I got my hubby his favorite flavor as an anniversary present. (Note: you will be getting more free dessert, so stick these in the freezer and save for another day! They freeze really well.) The free birthday bundtlet coupon expires a week after your birthday.
Free Cupcake from Sprinkles – You must be signed up for Sprinkles Perks in order to claim your free cupcake. Sprinkles cupcakes are the best. YUM!
Free Cookie at Potbelly – You must be signed up for Potbelly Perks and they will add a free cookie coupon to your account! You have 30 days to redeem it too.
Free Tiramisu or Brownie Bites at Giordano’s – Enjoy a free dessert on Giordano’s with purchase of another menu item.
Mastro’s Steakhouse Dessert – Basically every restaurant in America will give you free dessert on your birthday. Mastro’s, however, has the best dessert in the entire world – butter cake. You haven’t lived until you’ve had this cake. Whenever I book Chris’ birthday here, I mention on the phone that he LOVES the butter cake and request to have it sent out with “Happy Birthday Chris” on the plate. They nail it every time. When Chris called for my birthday, he just mentioned we were celebrating my birthday and they sent out a complimentary slice of chocolate cake. While very, very nice…. we live for this butter cake and ended up ordering it anyways. (Hey, don’t judge – we were celebrating two events, which CLEARLY allows us to have two desserts. Haha!)
