Brighton Baby is officially one! WHY does time move so fast?! Bringing her home from the hospital literally feels like it happened yesterday. I can’t believe we just celebrated her first birthday! [Read about my birth story here!]
Hosting a huge first birthday party wasn’t a part of my original plan. To be quite honest, the pressures of Instagram and Pinterest got to me. I felt like I might be depriving my sweet baby of a memory she will want down the line. I didn’t want to let her down. After all, you only get one opportunity to throw an epic first birthday party.
When thinking of a theme, I wanted it to be super personal and fitting to her personality. With her name being Brighton Rose and her birthday being midsummer, I decided to go with a bright and fun, summer themed party. Insert all the rainbows, sunshine, and flowers here. 🙂
Ultimately, it was such an amazing day filled with more love and happiness than I could have ever imagined – memories that I’m sure will last a lifetime.
The Details
My favorite part of her birthday party decor is the vintage high chair I found on Craigslist. In our every day life, Brighton uses a clip on the counter high chair and I knew it wouldn’t be ideal for her to be the center of attention at her party. I scoured Craigslist to find the perfect vintage high chair and then I chalk painted it white. FYI – this turned out to be a much more time consuming project than I could have ever imagined. It’s so cute, but honestly – if you can buy one that is already painted white, I’d do that. You’re welcome in advance.
