If you’ve been keeping up with my blog, you know that we’ve been looking for a home (more on this in the near future). I started picturing myself in these houses playing hostess to all kinds of events and with the holidays right around the corner it was really easy to get lost in my daydreams.

Moving or not, I knew I wanted to host something, but what exactly is still up in the air. I turned to Basic Invite for some inspiration. They have all sorts of customized invitation cards.
So what sets Basic Invite apart? Their biggest draw is their almost unlimited color choices. They have over 180 different colors and you can change every single element on the card, down to the tiniest detail! It doesn’t stop there… they even have over 40 different colors of peel and seal envelopes.
It can be a little overwhelming to be able to change every detail on your cards. I mean – how do you know if they will look ok? Well, Basic Invite is one of the few companies that allows you to order a printed sample of the card you design to see exactly how it will print and the quality of the paper.
My favorite feature that Basic Invite offers is their free address collection service. All you have to do is share a link. This link will bring your guests to a customized landing page where they can enter in their addresses! The addresses will be stored in a secure address book tied to your account. You will be able to select who you want to invite to each occasion. Basic Invite will then print your envelopes for free.
The first holiday I focused on was Friendsgiving. Our family always travels to Marco Island for the Thanksgiving holiday, but for years I thought it would be fun to celebrate with my friends the week before.
Overall, I was pretty happy with how these turned out. Both of these invitations were printed on smooth coated paper. The one drawback I would say was the rounded corners. It just didn’t cut as clean as I had hoped. I do love that detail though and would try it again on thicker paper. The square cut is perfect.
I got a little carried away and ended up ordering a few Holiday party invites as well.
The Holiday Soiree card was printed on a double thick matte card. I really like the thickness as it feels like a high quality card.
When I saw this Holiday Cookie Exchange card, I got really excited. Cookie exchanges are the best! I printed this one on the signature matte paper, which I think ties into the vintage look and feel of this card. Thank goodness for the custom sample because I definitely have the wrong year on there. [Insert face palm emoji here.]
I loved the simplicity of the Jingle and Mingle card. I opted for the luxe velvet paper with the bracket style cut. I wish you could feel the texture of this one. It really does feel like luxe velvet and is by far my favorite paper choice. I’m not totally in love with the bracket cut though, which again, just goes to show you that custom samples are key.
Thanksgiving and Christmas party invitations are just the tip of the iceberg of what Basic Invite can do. They can truly accommodate any and all of your stationery needs.
